About Top 50 Baby

Top 50 Baby is a weekly list of the 50 things parents are buying most right now for babies, from newborn to about 2 years old: gear and carriers, strollers and car seat accessories, feeding, sleep and nursery, bath, health and safety, diapering, baby toys, and clothes.

Each category also gets its own weekly Top list, like the Top 20 Feeding or the Top 20 Clothing. The main Top 50 has at most three clothing items, so it stays focused on the gear and supplies you actually have to figure out.

How we pick

Every week we look at Amazon's public best-seller lists for baby products and how many reviews each one has. We leave out things made for older kids or for parents themselves, then a real person puts the list in order, based on what's selling and what we'd tell a friend with a new baby to buy.

The badges show how each item moved since last week: ▲ went up, ▼ went down, NEW is new on the list.

What we don't do

• No one pays us to be on the list.
• We don't make up prices. Prices change all the time, so we send you to the store to see today's price.
• We don't give medical advice. For anything about your baby's health, feeding or sleep, ask your pediatrician.
• We haven't tested every product ourselves. Each description says what it is and who it's for, based on the maker's listing.
